School Days

Hudson went back to school today! Oh, Joy!!! I am so excited to have two days by myself again! We not only talked about going to school all day yesterday, but we even trimmed up Hudson's hair! I know...some of you are asking...what hair? Well, he had what we refer to as "the baby comb-over" - which had to go! Since it was just a few snips, mommy & daddy tried their hands at a little cosmetology(sp?)! So new hair do for a new year!

Hudson loved watching us cut in the mirror - much different than expected. I thought straps would've been in order!
He did quite well at school this morning - even with a "slight" meltdown at the drop-off! His teachers said once he got in the room and saw the other kiddos playing, he jumped right in! He even ate most of his lunch!! He did make a mad dash for the door when he saw me - melted mommy's heart! I love my time away, but it is so great to be reminded how much I'm loved by my little man! Hopefully Thursday will go even better!
On Our Way...
Our "slight" meltdown
All smiles until he saw mommy at the door & he was ready to go!

First Plane Ride!

Much better than expected!! That's how I would describe our whirl-wind trip to Michigan. We loaded up a plane to Detroit early Thursday morning...and Hudson was TERRIFIC!! Kevin and I were quite nervous about the whole process, but he was entertained and well-contained!
We landed and headed to Adrian, MI where we visited 3 great-grandparents, a great-aunt, and a great-great aunt & uncle along with Grandpa D and Omi! Surprisingly, Hudson made it all day on a 1 hour nap. At bedtime, we loaded up the car again and ventured to Birmingham, MI to stay with some wonderful friends, the Adams'!

It was such fabulous weather so Friday we headed to the park with the Adams Triplets - yes, triplets! 3 year old triplets!! And mad props to Jon & Shelli - Jon Harris, Jack & Allie are 3 of the most well-behaved kiddos I've met ever! We had dinner at a local pizza joint where Hudson enjoyed his FIRST Lollipop!!

Saturday flew by...we walked a couple of blocks to enjoy Dream Cruise (a HUGE event for car enthusiasts). It was really cool watching all the old cars people had restored cruising down the main drag! We then went on to the main attraction for the weekend...Michael & Erin's wedding! Michael is Kevin's only cousin - how could we miss it! It was a beautiful wedding and reception, just was a little long for our little man! He sat quietly through the wedding {with one "YEA" after Erin's sister sang}, had "BRIE" at happy hour {and loved it}, enjoyed some dinner and even cut a rug on the dance floor!

Sunday was a low-key day. We played with the Jon Harris, Jack & Allie and their abundance of toys in the drive-way {pjs and all} and walked to a local diner for lunch {sans pjs}. Then we all headed back to the house to catch a much needed snooze before our trip home. Hudson wasn't as terrific on the way home, but we made it and without any dirty looks or hurting ears!

Hudson really liked playing with the big kids - Jack especially! I think in a few years, those two will definitely be causing some trouble!!! I couldn't get enough of the weather...it made me crave fall and football season even more!!!
But as luck would have it, he's been running a fever consistently since Sunday morning. The poor guy feels puny and won't eat a thing. Good news is he's drinking more than normal and still sleeping! He nevers gets sick, so the sweet thing just doesn't know how to handle it (nor does mommy for that matter)!
We all can't wait to head back north again and see all of our family and friends!

What A Sweet Sight

If I didn't have Hudson-man, this might just be the sweetest sight! The day we receive our AU Season Tix is right up there with (1) Christmas and (2) the actual Season Opener! Lately, I have been so ready for fall and football! I've even resorted to watching NFL Preseason Games! I think this year will be super-exciting (as always) and so much fun to share with Hudson! WAR EAGLE!

I Had To Do It...

...Go to the "Devil Store" that is! For those who don't know, the Devil in this case is Wal Mart. A necessary evil of sorts. So convenient, so cheap, but oh so frightening! However, I do feel somewhat okay for going to the Dunwoody location. Instead of closing it down & opening a Super Walmart 2 blocks over, the Devil Execs chose to convert the current local. During a weekday morning in Dunwoody, I've learned it's really not too bad a place to be and quite clean!
Reason for going...BUBBLES! I found out from mommies around town that bubbles were in low supply since it's "the end of summer." Which I won't even start on since it's still 98 in the shade and little relief in the pool. These days we start and stay outside playing with our Tiger Bubble Maker & Bubble Lawn Mower! In the afternoon, the baby pool is filled and bubbles are flowing in there too!
So, after no luck at TWO Targets and CVS...We find a Stock Pile! Choosing to leave 1 or 2 jugs to make someone else's day, I only pick up SIX! I think we're good for the fall and maybe next spring!

Movie Rec & Some Smoochin?!?!

So most of the time when my dear hubby requests a night at the movies, I cringe. Since most of his movie requests "look better on the big screen," I usually go...arms crossed, kicking and screaming! But lately, I've come out of the theater ready for the sequel! Last night was no different...we went to see The Dark Knight (aka Batman)! It was awesome and really well written. Hubby and I both thought the Heath Ledger hype was due to his passing, but I believe no other actor could've played that part! AND bonus, Christian Bale is definitely holding steady at #1 on my "Top 5!!!"

As for the "smooching"...don't worry...no pics of the Hubby and me kissing, but I am posting one that I snapped yesterday while our friend Caroline was over! I mean, I think Elizabeth and I need to watch these two!!! For more of Hudson's July pics, click on his Babyjellybeans page!
