Welcome to Mommyhood

In all honesty, I have not always liked my hair; however, I was very grateful to have a full head of it and know exactly what to expect. I knew that it was going to be oily, have a funky curl that was necessary to blow straight, and that I was going to lose many strands once out of the shower...but mommyhood seems to have changed this (among the many, many others)! One of my perks of being pregnant was my "pregnant hair!" I am to this day envious of other pregnant ladies for the hair! Mine was so shiny and soft...and it grew so fast and long! I almost felt like a Pantene commercial!! :-)

Now however...I'm back to losing a glob of it after my showers and the curly-ness is most definitely intact, but lately, in addition to all of this loveliness, my hair has been soooo very dry, frizzy and flat out unmanagable!! Dry, frizzy, nappy curls don't really mix well in the south! Since "the nest" (as I now refer to it) is usually pulled back in a ponytail by say 9:00 am, I haven't given it much thought...until the other day! Who says blog stalking isn't time well spent!?!? I came across The Beauty Addict and she had a post titled "The Holy Grail of Hair Products!" I thought, "now this has to be for me!" It was a product called Creme de Cocoa Masque by Bumble & Bumble. B&B has become a new favorite of mine recently so again I was thinking, "this is definitely for me!" So off on my hunt I go! I saw Target with a few B&B items, but to no avail so next stop, BlueMercury in Perimeter Mall! And ding-ding-ding, they're a winner! Not only a winner but the girls in the store have all used it and raved about it!! So the $24 I was so hesitantly about to spend on 5 oz of coconut creme all the sudden seemed like a worthwhile investment!

So tonight was the big night! Directions say: use after shampooing and leave in for 7 minutes then rinse. So here goes nothing...

Results: I might just give my next born to the B&B scientists! As I was drying my hair, I could tell the difference and by the end, I was IN LOVE! I was as giddy as the school girl in 1st grade waiting for Kirk Adams to come sit next to me!!! Now my problem may be that I can't stop touching my hair! Hello again pregnant hair (well, minus the itty bitty)! Just think...if I keep using this when I get pregnant (should that day come), I just may well be in a Pantene commercial! :-)

So the tag line is: A weekly indulgence for softness and gloss...Words can't describe how soft, silky and glossy Creme de Cocoa Masque leaves hair - you just have to feel for yourself! And I agree!!! Now if only someone could tell me the perfect length for my bangs!

Dinner with Tubs!

(Sort of...)Last night the Atlanta Auburn Club had the annual dinner with Tubs! This year was a little different...it is usually a sit-down (and pricey) dinner that Kevin and I have opted out of the past few years. But this year was a "tailgate" atmosphere...and if there is an Auburn Tailgate, Kevin and I are there. They had a lot of activities for the kiddos and concession-type yummies! Hudson-man is still no fan of Aubie - every time we got close to him he'd say "no, no, no!" But we were able to sit behind him for a pic before Hudson had a total break-down!! (Maybe by football season he'll warm-up!!) Enjoy our pics...

BTW...my grand idea is now taken...their were some ladies there promoting their new MATERNITY wear for Auburn and (unfortunately) bama! For logo items the prices aren't too terrible...and it least it is 'actual' Auburn/bama shirts (for those with picky husbands like mine)! The website is...http://www.bellystyles.com/!!

Chillin' out & relaxin' with a cold beverage!

AUBIE!

Hudson was definitely checking him out!

But mommy got a picture!

Some New Things...

Hudson got his first "curl" in his hair! I know, most mommies get excited about this at like 6 months, but poor little Hudson-man has just now started getting some real hair! I think it's just precious! Don't you?!?

AND...even bigger news...Hudson is SWIMMING on his own (well, with the help of a swim backpack) but the little man was "running" in the water today and balancing himself like a pro! I was so proud and can't wait until this weekend to practice! I think Coach Cortez was quite impressed too - since he's pretty much only played in the water for the past FIVE weeks! YEA!
(Since I'm in the water with him - maybe I can get Grandma D to come to class next week and take a few pics to post!)
